USB, but you'll need software from motorolas website, but i can tell you for sure that nextel does not support making your own ringtones and it is not possible to send/recieve ringtones from pc to the phone. the purpose ofthe USB is for sending information from phone to pc only and nextel will not assist you with this accessory unless you are using the phone as a modem, aside from that you can get some assistance from motorola's iden support m-f @ 1-800-453-0920, but that you might want to call them for questions about this first before you purchase ANYTHING!!!
