Is it ok to wear a dress the same colour as the bridesmaids dresses at a destination wedding?
I have a cousin getting married in the Dominican and found the perfect light blue summer dress to wear to it. Problem is, the bridesmaids dresses look to be the same light blue shade. It’s a completely different dress, mine is eyelet material and theirs is chiffony and has much bigger straps than mine does. Anyone know if this is too much of a faux pas?

In a time where it’s okay for guests to wear black or white to a wedding (white upstages the BRIDE & black is for night/formal weddings & mourning/funerals), your blue dress will be perfectly acceptable.
Besides, YOU just so happen to know the color of the wedding party–how many guests usually know that and will avoid it!? Very few! So of course it’s fine. Just not black or white according to eons of wedding etiquette.
