Are you sure the base of a bulb didn't break off inside the socket? I have installed and removed dozens of ceiling fans and have never seen the threads of a socket get stripped as you have described. If you have a base stuck in it, use a pair of needle nosed pliers. Insert them into the base and open them up . The pressure inside the base will allow you to unscrew it. ( Do I really need to tell you to have the power off first?). Otherwise you'll have to replace the entire light kit. They are usually between $15 and $20 and can be purchased at any store that sells ceiling fans.
