Soy scented candles or paraffin candles as my first test maker
As a candle manufacturer, I would very versatile in the art of making hand poured candles in my home. I think we live in a wonderful society, where every personal preferences and views are very different. Everyone should be able to enjoy at least one of the many different types of scented candles. I’ve always been a paraffin wax candle lovers. Recently, at the request of a friend, I learn exactly how soy candle making is different from paraffin candles. This was to make my first attempt, scented candles, soy, and these are my results:
First I made some scented soy candles. I bought three pounds of 100% soy and samples taken. These soy candles have been very easy to do. It seemed I had not re-pour each candle, as I have the paraffin wax candles. I used cotton wicks core, because I knew that they burned cleaner than zinc cored wicks. I also have so many highly fragrant essential oil in my soya blend, as I used in my paraffin candle blends. I even triple scented candle each sample. The strongly scented candle fragrance oil I used was safe for both labeled soy and paraffin candles. I used the basic color chips for my candle scented soy samples.
I have never seen a soy candle before, so I burned did not know what to expect. I tested my soy candles in my house and I found that they actually burn longer than paraffin candles. In most cases, two times longer than paraffin candles. Much to my dismay I have found that it is not as big of a scent throw from the soy tea light emitted come from my beloved than paraffin wax candles are, I’ve come to love.
Next I made some scented soy votive samples. These candles were harder to make than I had expected. I have used all the same ingredients such as fragrance oil, paint and wicks for soy candles. I changed the mix to reflect the votive candle. The wicks I have cotton wicks core, but were made by the manufacturer for use with votive candles.
It was the same with the fragrant soy candle votive candle as it was with the fragrant soy. The triple scented soy votive candle has burned for more than three times the scented paraffin wax candle. The fragrance from the scented soy votive candle you was issued not as big as the paraffin scented votive candle. The soy votive candle was difficult for me to get form from the metal price, and it seemed to break as I tried to remove it. Remember, I leave every soy candle blessed set overnight or at least eight hours before I tried to remove it from the metal form.
Finally, I made an 8 oz jar scented soy candle. My results were still, the same as on the steps of lowered odor of scented soy jar candle. Again, it has much longer to burn than paraffin wax my scented jar candle.
