Futons are an interesting category of furniture, as it is not so much in the mainstream retail outlets originally established but in stores and shops waterbed. Looking back over the last twenty-five years since Futons First came on the scene is a revealing insight into the birth of a furniture category, which would soon become a household name. Back in 1983 a gentleman named Nikita Grigoriev filed a patent for what he called “convertible furniture”.
